question 7

                                     Digital security

In the real world there are many dangers and hazards we have to look out for similarly in the digital world we also must be aware of the hazards that await us. online security is no joke in today's day and age since almost anything can be done online today we have to remain safe while carrying out our daily online tasks there are many cases of cyber bullying, online theft, hackers, identity theft, fraud, online banking systems are being hacked into.

online security is a real and major issue out here today there are methods to protect yourself such as having firewalls etc. these hackers are even sending viruses to our systems and shutting them down. but it also depends on you if you do not access these sketchy sites this is likely to not happen like wise there are rules and regulations you must follow on the internet because everything that you do and post on the internet can be traced back to you and could have major repercussions such as you could post something nasty online and then when applying for a job could lose the job because of that one nasty post or comment that you made years ago when they did a background check on you. how you carry yourself online is how you carry yourself in the real world because lets face it we are living in a complete digital world now.

you should install firewalls and anti virus, be very careful of what you post and what you say online for example do not just go giving your exact location and personal information away, only access safe and secure sites, be wary of online banking and take precaution to whatever you do online.

question 6

                                         Digital law

6.1 Digital socialisation is basically online socialisation and interactivity  with one and other via the internet, social media could change the communities traditions and practices in a number of ways  such as expanding the culture and traditions through social media and educating others who do not know about their traditions and ways and perhaps enlightening them and making it a tourist attraction inviting lots of others to the communities who will then in turn bring money and technology into these communities and uplift their community and environment. also it would make life so much more easier to communicate to one another via social media. it could potentially save lives if their is a emergency. social media could modernise a lot of things in these communities, when they have ceremonies and stuff it could be organised much easier and faster through social media.

6.2 There could be ethical issues such as a concern of privacy as well as safety of kids as well as adults, there could also be hacking being done and just digital etiquette could be a problem because people from these communities are not really digitally literate about these kinds of things. there could be cases such as online bullying and just over all bad manners and behaviour on social media and the internet.

question 4

                                    Digital etiquette

Cyber bullying: Ryan Halligan had an early learning disability. his parents put him in a special school to help him with his development issues, Ryan's academic and physical disabilities made him a  popular target for one particular bully. this occurred when at school between the fifth and seventh grade. Ryan shared a personal story which was then turned into a rumour about him being gay. Ryan thought he had a friendship with a pretty popular girl through AOL instant  messenger. he later realised that this girl and her friends thought it would be funny and cool to make Ryan think they liked him and used it to make him share more personal embarrassing stories and material. the girl copied and pasted everything into AIM exchanges with her friends which led Ryan to commit suicide by hanging himself in the family bathroom.

consequences of cyber bullying: depending on the act of bullying there can be legal actions, there are charges of harassment, emotional pain ,negligence and vicarious liability.

Identity theft: Amy Krebs received a phone call one Friday at work she had been called by the same number the day before as well from a popular credit card company ,asking to call them she immediately thought it was a scam. she checked the phone number of the credit card company and it was a popular credit card companies fraud department. they told her somebody had tried to get a credit card using her name , address and social security number and asked if she had signed up for a credit card but she said no they said that they would deactivate it but still sent the credit card to this address but it was not Amy's. Amy later found out that a female had been using her information for six months, she placed a fraud alert on her credit card reports and froze it. she used Amy's maiden name and surname and ten year old name and address to receive medical attention.

consequences of identity theft: police department built up a case against her, she also had a warrant of arrest out for her. in general stealing someone's identity and committing fraud will lead to serious jail time.

Corrupting computer systems: about 100 people used forged standard bank credit cards to withdraw 1.8 billion in Japanese yen which is over 250 million rand. they withdrew the money from 1400 ATMS in Tokyo and a few other areas in japan in under three hours . they had unauthorised access of a computer system of standard bank in South Africa.

consequences: serious jail time for fraud.

invading peoples privacy: a 20 year old woman was stalked and murdered through posting on social media, checking in on Facebook which was allowing people to know her current location.

consequences: murder is serious jail time, life sentence depending on the judge and jury and stalking people is a criminal offence, the victim can have a restraining order on the perp but in this case she could not because it was too late.

short list on guiding online etiquette:
-Avoid inappropriate materials
-Report fraud immediately
-Don't share personal details (account details) via phone calls or via messaging
-Don't share personal information on social media or to anybody you do not know
- Don't be a cyber bully
- Treat people the way you want to be treated
-Do not break the law online
-Don't post graphic content in a place that it should not be seen.

question 3

                                                             “Napalm-Girl”

i think that the nudity of the girl was a violation of her privacy and her families rights which is very disrespectful, but given the circumstances it was necessary for it to be seen in such graphic content so people could actually see the true horror of what was happening around the world so that they could see the true atrocities of war and so that they could have some what of an idea of how those children were feeling.

of course we could never truly know what they felt because we haven't been through such things but i believe in the picture we could have covered her up but still let people know what was happening and let them see the horrors of this world. i do not think it is inappropriate given the circumstances and i believe we have to see things like this given the circumstances we cannot just ignore it and leave it be and pretend like nothing happened or pretend like it wasn't as bad as we think it was because it was that way, in fact it was even worse.

we should be able to post stuff like this given he circumstance so we can make people aware of what is happening so that we can put an end to all of this  so that something like that never happens again.
